DrugDetect in the National Drug Coordinators Meeting

DrugDetect participated in the National Drug Coordinators meeting, which took place in Ghent, Belgium on the 22nd-24th of May 2024. The meeting organized in the context of the Belgian presidency of the Council of the European Union. An informative presentation was given about the DrugDetect project within the context of the approach to drug addiction at DJI. It was a very interesting national drug coordinators meeting at which experts on drugs from the 27 Member States were represented. The meeting had the format of a conference day, during which the Belgian presidency had chosen to work on the theme of ‘drugs in prisons’. The theme was addressed on the one hand from a health and social perspective – with attention to prevention, harm reduction and treatment – and on the other hand from a more repressive perspective, with attention to the problems of supply and the drug market in prisons.
